He Tohu, a Declaration, a Treaty and a Petition
Arapine Walker, Poutiaki Rauemi at the National Library of New Zealand, describes a new exhibition; He Tohu. This exhibition is based on three constitutional documents; the Declaration of Independence, He Whakaputanga, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, The Treaty of Waitangi, and the Women’s Suffrage Petition that was signed in 1893. Arapine outlines the nature of the learning resources provided in both English and Māori settings, including a local place-based set of resources developed in collaboration with a Whangaroa kura around He Whakaputanga and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
