ONLINE DISCUSSION: Guided Silent Teaching / Learning #2 – Te Ako Wahangū

October 31, 2014 @ 3:30 pm - 4:00 pm

This is a Teaching and Learning approach based on a traditional model. It will require 2 sessions. An introduction, followed by trialling and making it relevant. With heightened senses another avenue of retention can be reached! The aim is to open the mind to other possibilities of teaching and learning with a Māori lens. If all the senses of a person are heightened, then aspects of retention, discipline and understanding can be realised. This has stemmed from teachings within the environment, and from traditional practises as examples for us. This will support the teacher to teach the child or person in a holistic approach which opens the mind and heart! By demonstration comes understanding, by understanding comes light, by light comes wisdom, by wisdom comes wellbeing.
